The current global crisis created by COVID-19 is difficult in so many ways for everyone. In Guatemala, many factories have suspended operations and garment workers are without work in a country with virtually no safety net.

Goodkraft, located in Antigua, Guatemala, is working together with its US parent company Urban Smalls on the zero-profit initiative Humans in Action to provide stay-at-home jobs for displaced workers making quality masks. Goodkraft delivers materials to sewers at their homes, and then collects the finished pieces and returns them to the factory for finishing and fulfillment. Urban Smalls is managing the marketing efforts and management of orders on the front end.

As with everything related to this global crisis, the situation is constantly evolving. But we have been overwhelmed by the orders received to date, and have an ever-growing group of sewers happy to be working again. In addition, we've partnered with several NGOs in Guatemala for "buy one, donate three" programs. We'll continue to update this space with information about how purchases from Humans in Action are helping the people of Guatemala stay safe and employed.

If you're going to buy re-usable masks, please consider buying from http://www.humansinaction.com. Please also consider sharing - the more orders we get, the more workers we can help!
